Hi - I bricked my LS with all my lossless cds and videos following a power failure.  After following advice in various stickies and other posts I have been able to perform a TFTP boot, get the machine started in EM mode, force a frimware update (v1.06) and get access to the web admin mode again (and in English!!).  Although I am booting in EM mode NAS Navigator shows the LS as no longer being in EM mode!  Unfortunately it also shows no data on the disk (ie 0gb/596gb). It will also not reboot on its own - ie I still have to go through the EM boot routine to avoid the flashing red lights.  As I said - it looks normal on NAS Navigator when I do do this.  A few questions:

- Should I be looking to use 1.07 or 1.21 (I don't know what they mean by the red interface)?  Might this help?

- Is there any chance for my old data - or has that gone?

- Any thoughts re stopping the E06 from occuring?

- Why does the 640 not show up on any of Buffalo's download lists - which should I use (500 or 1Tb)?

 

 Any help greatly appreciated - have been round the houses three nights in a row on this one.

If your still having problems with the device and it's within your regions (uk) warranty period I would get another device if you are having power down issues.  With the red version your going to have to check the hardware revision for that model in that region.  There is a chance that you can recover your data by making the same exact folder name it was before in the mapped drive.  If you are in the web interface and there is not data in the capacity field on your device that your data is gone.
