Title: Buffalo automatically creates backup mdb files that I don't want
Post by: apzu_emr on October 05, 2009, 02:50:18 AM

Hi,

When I edit an Access 2007 database on my Buffalo network drive, it automatically creates a backup .mdb file.  For example, if my database is called 'SampleDB.accdb', it will create a copy called 'Database.mdb'.  The next time I edit my database, it will create another called 'Database1.mdb'.

I have a backup job running on this drive that makes a weekly backup copy, but I don't think this is related.  I also don't think that this has to do with Access itself since this behavior doesn't happen when the file is stored on a local hard drive.

Does anyone know what might be going on?

Thanks.

What unit do you have?  We need as much info on your unit as much as possible.  Firmware, Model Number etc.....

Sorry, should have included this in the first post:

Model number and firmware: LS-WTGL/R1-V3 F/W 3.07

We are accessing the drive over a windows share.
