Title: Terastation only accessable by 1 computer
Post by: jguiles on September 30, 2009, 01:53:11 AM

Terastation Pro II Rackmount

Model: TS-RHTGL/R5

Firmware: 1.33

I recently purchased two terastations for use on a large Windows 2003 domain. They easily pull an IP address and are visible in NASnavi but for some reason there is only one computer in the buiding that can gain access. They can be pinged from any workstation by IP address or DNS but when you attempt to open the share you recieve the error "the specified network name is no longer available". Every machine on the domain was baselined with the exact same Ghost Image there is nothing different about any of them. I have tried every firmware version available changed every possible setting on the workstations and the terastations with no success please help!

Are you trying to map it by hostname?  If you are try mapping it by just the IP address.  Go to your run box and type in \\ipaddress.

I have tried mapping by IP address as well to no avail. It gives the exact same error message. I thought it may have had something to do with the way our domain machines are set up so I took a laptop and installed a plain copy of Windows XP pro, but it does the exact same thing.
