Title: TeraStation III Replication Feature
Post by: agentbb007 on September 29, 2009, 12:59:18 PM

We just purchased a TeraStation III 4TB and have 3 TeraStation II Pro's.  I am looking at using the Share level replication feature the TeraStation III provides.  But I'm wondering if I can set the replication target as one of the old TeraStation II Pro's?

Also this is a question that applies to both the TeraStation III and II running raid 5.  If a hard disk goes bad will any hard disk that is the same size work as a replacement?

Thanks

BB

It looks like the replication feature only works with the Terastation 3, Linkstation Live (CHL, CHL-V2,  XHL) and the Linkstation Pro Duo.You will also want to check the RPM of the drives.  I believe the 4 TB units usually ship with 7200 RPM drives.
