Title: Temperature LS Duo Pro and other questions...
Post by: stephane37000 on September 28, 2009, 01:01:33 PM

Hello,

I am very happy with my new LS duo pro 2 To NAS, firmware 3.09, but I have some questions:

1) Do you know the temperature of the hard drives inside the NAS? The case of the NAS is warm, and what is a bit strange is that the case has roughly the same temperature when the power button is ON or OFF. How do you explain this?

2) Do you think it is possible to add in a next firmware the option to put in sleep the hard drives when they are not used after a certain time? This would increase a lot the reliability of the hard drives.

3) Is there an option to direct copy the files from a USB hard drive to the NAS? If not, do you think it is possible to add this in a next firmware?

4) It seems that the web access doesn't work from a iPhone. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance!

1) 80 F Give or take 20%

2) There is an auto option on most of our devices

3) If the drive was already in xfs, you can try mapping it by doing \\ip address\\usbdisk1

4) Try updating to firmware 3.10

For question 2) I know the auto option but it is not the ideal solution because it is impossible to awake the hard drives from internet, outside the local network.

For question 4) Does the firmware 3.10 work with the european version of the NAS please?

You would want to check with the European website/support.

Buffalo Europe has not added 3.10. You need 3.08 or 3.10 for iphone to work correctly.

I asked them to add 3.08 as well.
