Title: HS-DHTGL/R5 1.10 - USB Disk - XFS Partition
Post by: rwglobal on September 26, 2009, 09:22:21 AM

I have a TeraStation HS-DHTGL/R5 - Firmware version 1.10. I am using 2 Maxtor OneTouch 4 Plus 1TB drives plugged into the USB ports. I formatted them to XFS and loaded software. This worked great. I recently decided to replace the USB drives with 2 WD 1TB MyBook drives. I want to use the Maxtor drives on my Mac to use the firewire port on the drives.

I plugged the Maxtor drives into the Mac using the firewire port. The Mac could not read the data. I plugged the drives back into the TeraStation, the Terastation did not allow me to access the shares or data either. The drives show up, however, there are no shares. I now need to retrieve the data off of the drives to move data from the Maxtor drives to the WD drives.

How can I access the data to move it? Please HELP!! I have Windows based PCs and Mac OS X.

Since the drives are in XFS format, they won't be read natively by Windows or Macs (XFS is a Linux format).

If you do not have access to a Linux based computer, you can try getting a program that can translate. "UFS Explorer" is one such program, but I believe there are others.
