Title: Power input for Terastation III (100-240) or (120) only?!!?
Post by: kaissi on September 10, 2009, 01:38:24 AM

Hello,

I recently bought  a TeraStation III 8TB.  On the seller's website under specifications, 110-220 was written for power input, also on buffalo.com website.  However, when I bought the unit, only 120 is allowed on the stickers on the back of the unit.  I have 220 power so what should I do?  Should I just try plugging it? or will I burn it?

Thank you,

Where did you purchase your Buffalo product?  TeraStation III's purchased in the North American region specify 100-240 V.  If the device says 100-120 on the back, it is safe to say that it will not take 200V without a power converter.  Please check with Buffalo support from your region and they will be able to confirm.  The device is too expensive to just "plug it in".  A simple power converter will protect your investment.
