Title: Can't access LinkStation Live after power outage
Post by: jstumpf on September 09, 2009, 07:27:56 PM

model number: HS-DH500GL

firmware revision: unknown

computer: Vista machine that accessed the share folder all the time; I believe I set it up on XP machine.

network: Linksys Wireless-N Gigbit Lan (LSL is wired)-- 2 Vista machines, 2 XP machines

Following a power outage, the LSL was beeping. Tried re-booting, resulting in just flashing error light: E04 - flash error (I think)

Could not access the LSL via IE or Firefox. Share drive showing as "not connected".

Searched on here (extensively).

In EM mode now (which is why I don't know what the firmware version is).

Attempted to flash the firmware, no luck at all from my Vista machine.

It looked like I was getting somewhere on my XP machine, but it ultimately resulted in the current state: orange info light flashing code I25 - firmware updating.

I tried to force the firmware, directly connected to the XP machine. However, the check block info never would appear (just waiting & waiting...).

Any ideas?

Try the reset procedure on the device.

Try a tftp as described at the top of the forum and reapply the firmware.

Possible that the system board could have taken some damage. Difficult as to say where though since there is no error codes indicating such but that's not to rule out the possibility. Might be best to contact your regional tech support and setup an exchange if you're still in warranty.
