Like several here, I tried to upgrade the firmware on my Linkstation Live to 2.10. The LSUpdater would get to the very end and fail. After powering the unit down, the system now does the 6 error flashes(can't read hard drive). So I connect it direct to the computer, launch the firmware recovery server, it boots from it. I can connect with the NASNav and then browse the unit and re-formated the hard drive. Then ran check disk. Everything appears to be in order. I can see the shares from my computer as well. Yet, it still has the 6 flashes on boot and wont boot without help of recovery server. So now I'm trying to install the firmware 2.10 and cannot get the LSUpdater to see the unit. I set the computer IP to 192.168.11.1 and Linkstation to 192.168.150. I set the host names the same(in the LSUpdater ini file and on the Linkstation). I've uninstalled AV and disabled the XP firewall service. I still cannot get the LSUpdater to see the unit even though every other method(NASNAV and browser access and shares) all work just fine. I think if I could just get the firmware installed(completely) then I'd be out of the woods.
Try to force the firmware
