I have two NAS models (details below) which have been working fine for over 6 months with the following PCs: 2 running Windows XP Pro, 1 running Vista Home Premium (x32), and 1 running Vista Ultimate (x32). I never had a single problem with either NAS under this setup (wired/wireless via Belkin 55g router).
Last week I added a new PC running Vista Home Premium (x64) and didn't have any problems until I replaced its OS with Vista Ultimate (x64), via a clean install. It immediately began having the classic Vista "Preparing to copy" bug, and I took the following steps to resolve it:
1) Uninstalled Norton NIS2009
2) Installed SP1 and SP2 for Vista x64
3) Set the NIC speed to "Auto Negotiate"
I can now mount shares from both drives, but I'm still having a major problem-- when the unit is dormant, the NIC goes into a low-power mode. When it "wakes up," I can't see the LS-WTGL mount (even using NAS Nav2) until I "Diagnose and Repair" the connection or manually reset the NIC. The HD_LAN remains visible the whole time, though. I've applied all available network driver updates.
What should I do next?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
