Title: Trouble setting up Web Access - LinkStation Pro LS-XH2.0TL
Post by: sftrny on August 31, 2009, 02:28:13 PM

I am using a Link Station Pro LS-XH2.0TL.

Firmware has been upgraded to 1.10.

LS is connected to a Linksys router  BEFSR81.

LS is assigned a static IP (192.168.1.99).

I am not using HTTPS.

I am using BuffaloNAS.com

BuffaloNAS name and key are specified.

Auto Configure of firewall returned error, so I manually set external port to 9000.

In the router setup for UPnP Forwarding, for both TCP and UDP traffic, I have set external port 9000 to forward to the LS IP Address and Port 9000.  DMZ is off.

I can get to web access from inside my network, but not from outside the network?   Any suggestions?

The only reason for that would be firewalls.  Do you have DSL or cable internet?  What is the model of your modem?  Does canyouseeme.org see the ports as open?

I don't have cable or DSL.  I have a fiber connection to my house (bundled services in a planned housing community).  I checked with my ISP and they said that port 9000 is not blocked on their end.  When I try canyouseeme.org, it says "connection timed out".  So I am guessing that the my router is blocking it?  Is there a way to check to see where the blockage is?

Most likely the port is not properly forwarded in the router.
