Title: Drivestation HD-CE1.0TU2
Post by: Hightower on August 28, 2009, 01:03:12 AM

Hey,

Bought a Drivestation HD-CE1.0TU2 a couple of months back for moving data between PC's as I was upgrading, worked fine on old machine (XP) and new one (Vista) however today all the files that were on the disk have been replaced with a handful of random small ones, including a buffbuff.alo file. The drive also seems to have been renamed in My Computer to Local Disk from Buffalo HD. Looking at the properties of the drive the capacity used seems to tally with what should be on there not what it shows is on there. Anything I can do to recover my data?

Sounds like file corruption to me.  The only option is to format the unit, but that would delete the data.

Did you try accessing it in USB mode?
