Title: LS-WTGL/R1 Pro Duo fails to connect after power outage
Post by: jpy on August 25, 2009, 04:02:32 PM

Hi,

I've been using a LS-WTGL/RI for a couple of months with no
problem until a recent power outage. Now, I can no longer access the device and I have some important
data  that I desperately need to get hold of, which
is hopefully still intact.

I was considering doing the reset with the function button
but wasn't sure if the the data will remain untouched?

Currently, the unit display shows the 'on' button constantly flashing and
it will not power down when switched to 'off' at the rear.
Am currently looking at your forums but any help would be really appreciated.

As I can't get on I'm not sure of the firmware but I think it may be 3.09.
Thanks.

Jim

The unit isn't booting up, I would do the TFTP procedure.

Thanks for the prompt reply.  I'll attempt the TFTP in the morning.  This is all a bit new to me and I'm still paranoid about losing my data.  I'll let you know how it goes.  Cheers.

The TFTP shouldn't affect the data.

I didn't get around to doing the TFTP as UK support tell me it will
invalidate my warranty, but have agreed the unit is faulty.  I should have mentioned it was an EU model
but didn't realise it was an important distiction.  Sorry if I've wasted your time.

So, while I organise a replacement, is there any way I can recover the data, which I'm sure is still OK.
It was configured as RAID1.  Any pointers gratefully received.  Thanks.

I would contact your support for data recovery options.  Removing the drives will probably void your warranty.  We have a data recovery company that we recommend in the States.
