Title: What is the largest hard drive the TS-X8.0TL/R5 can support?
Post by: miogpsrocks on July 21, 2019, 04:22:40 PM
What is the largest hard drive the TS-X8.0TL/R5 can support without doing crazy stuff to the bios or tweaking?

I think I posted about this a long time ago and the answer was either 3TB or 4TB but I can't find the post.

I was going to pull the trigger on the upgrade and wanted to double check on the hard drive size.

Thanks.

There seems to be an old thread about this here:

It looks like folks succeeded with 4tb and 6tb drives.

I'm >95% sure that device won't be able to handle any volumes larger than 16TB total like most 32-bit ARM devices. A while back I was able to run 2x 12TB arrays (2x6TB each) in an ls-qvl without trouble but anything larger than 16TB failed. I tried numerous variations on several devices and operating systems but sadly didn't take any notes.
