Title: FTP permissions issues
Post by: buckchucko on August 09, 2009, 05:13:37 AM

I have a LS-CH1.0 linkstation. I created a new folder on Disk 1 with windows, apple, ftp support. I applied access restrictions to it for 3 users. 2 have read/write and 1 read only.

I went outside my lan and using Smart FTP, logged onto my linkstation no problem with a user/pw that has read/write permission. I was able to upload, download, and deletefiles on my linkstation as expected.

Then I logged in as the read only user, and was ALSO able to upload, download, and delete files from the linkstation.

What gives with this? Why aren't permissions working correctly?

OK, it seems I got this figured out now. I did not go to extensions and set this folder to "use inherited folder permissions". It was set to "all users..."

Now it seems to work ok!
