Hi,

I have found a problem in the bitTorrent feature, When i try and change the Default save location (default is ''share" ), to my shared folded 'Ali', it changes and saves fine. But when i either reboot the linkstation or lose network connection, it reverts to the default. this is really annoying because I Cannot have it saving to the 'share' folder. is there a fix/patch for this, or am i just being stupid?

as before, any help will be greatly appriciated.

hi mate im afraid that it seems buffola just arnt that great at the software side of things i have the LS-CHL640 and it does that aswell, there are quite alot of faults with there software system, the ftp will only intermittently show more than just a disk1 without folders in it, there upload and download settings for bittorrent are only set untill restart of the device, when you stop sometihng from uploading it will be started again on restart of the device, you can most of the time download faster with Vuze (azureus) on your pc that doesnt have ports falwarded to it that with the device its self and to top it off they have completely stricken off the fact that my LS-CHL640 even excists due to the fact that there new firmware fixing issues for the LS-CHL model doesnt work with that model, and i quote from the buffalo UK website under this models support page "do not try to upgrade the firmware of the LS-CHL640 to the new firmware availible for the 500,1TB,1.5TB and 2TB as it will kill your device and void warranty, we do not know why it does this"

without trying to sound angry they quite simply either do not know what they are doing or do not want to bother with after sales service or the quality of there product.

oh not to mention that most people on this site with refferance to this model are usualy complaining about there external access and i dont know any of the 8 people iv sold one of these to that can use it on there iphone with port direction and the nas drive set to apple mode.
