Title: mac and and LS don't communicate
Post by: kurkista on November 03, 2008, 03:44:23 PM

Hei,

I just installed my freshly bought LS ProDuo's software (NasNavi2.10) on my mac (iMac2.8Gh Intel, OS10.5.5) but on connectin to the server I get these two error messages:

1. "LS-WTGL292 cannot communicate. Change it to a right IPaddress automatically."

2. Tried to change LS-WTGL29's IPaddress, but failed.

The LS is visible in NasNavi but I cannot connect.

I've uni and reinstalled the software several times.

What can I do?

The LS is in the living room from where it connects to my iMac in my working room over an AirPort Extreme (v.7.3.2).

Rather than running this off the NAS navigator try this.

Go to Go -> Connect to server -> type smb://ip where ip is the IP address of the Linkstation. This should bring up a view with all the shared folders on the Linkstation, at which point you can click on your shared folder and it should show under your Macintosh Hard Drive on the left hand side.

Hei Matt,

and thanks for the answer.  Yes, I tried what you suggest but again I get an error window: Connection failed, server not found or possibly not up or not running (translation from Finnish).

And if try to renew the IPaddress it asks for the admin password which I don't know (how can I log in as admin?). Is it possible that I have to configure Airport Extrem?

It's strange for the LS shows in the network and through NasNavi it even gives me the IP, but still I cannot connect. Hmmm...

Exact same problem, solved. Go to finder, NETWORK, and you'll see the link to it there (mine was ls-lgl933). Click on that icon and you're in. I still cannot connect the way the manual tells you to, but this method works fine and you don't need to type in an ip address (that's too microsoft anyway)
