Title: upgrade to twonky 5 ?
Post by: roydonaldson on July 24, 2009, 06:31:57 AM

Hi there,

I've been using my Linkstation Live very happily for a while now. However, recently there has been a lot of upgrades to the Twonky server from Packetvision.

Is it possible to upgrade the Linkstation to twonky v5 on our own ? or, do we know if there is a newer firmware in development that has twonky 5 integrated into it already ?

Thanks,

Roy.

Did you ever figure out how to upgrade? Seems my linkstation is about 2 versions too old. Buffalo wont update so we might have to do it ourselves. Did did you figure ot out?

my god we will all be 150 years old before buffalo get around to it. There is an update 5.1.3 for twonky. I had a go at installing it but couldnt get it working 100% so restored back to 4.4.19

I am going to have another go after having a good read of the configs so hopefully will nail 5.1.3. on the ls-xhl

If you happen to get this to work, please let us know. We have been desperately waiting for this. I wish you the best of luck.

Had another quick go but no joy - something knocks out the mediaserver process. The installer that twonky provides needs additional parameters setting that arent documented so its trial and error. I wont be beat so will give it a third go - just takes a lot of time :smileywink:

This is not supported by Buffalo.  It is written in the firmware.
