The issue i am having is my ps3 don't see my music located on my nas. It has no issue seeing the nas but it don't see the music or pictures. I have the pcast set up pointing to the correct folder and i have no permissions set on the nas to see if that was the problem same issue. The ps3 is up to date.

What kind of files are they? Try refreshing the data base and initializing the unit.

Ok new update they are mp3 files and pictures also i got the ps3 to see the files but its now showing the whole libaray. I tried to flash the database then refreash and it seems to still have issues. I have the pcast set to the root directory which holds folders of all music and a folder with tons of pictures. The system at lease sees some music but no pictures.

Any more suggestions. thanks

what firmware is installed on the LS, list all the options you have selected in PCast. Is USB disk ticked?

Firmware 2.11 Below is a screen shot of my settings. Also all of my active data is there I do keep a backup. I am in the IT field I am aware of how unpredictable hard drives can be. Settings are Media Server ( Enable) Media Folder (Root of Share) Usb Disk ( Unchecked) PCAST Password (Disabled) Would be enabled but want to get working first Limit DLNA client access (Enable) PS3 is in the choose device as ok Update Media list (Manual Update)
