Title: LS-CHL can access by ip but not by hostname
Post by: neil12011 on July 23, 2009, 02:29:36 AM

I just purchased the Ls-CHL.  I cannot access it by going to "network places" and clicking on the icon for it.  It is named LS-CHLxxx, I get an error code of 0x80070035 saying that it's an invalid host name.  Typing the ip into the address bar works fine.  I have downloaded the vista patch.  No dice.  I have tried to make sure every service under the sun is enabled and ALL firewalls are turned off on both the router and vista.  I have to be able to get to the NAS through the hostname for a very important 3rd party software prog to work.  Any help would be awesome, this is my first buffalo purchase.

If you can access via IP but not hostname then there is a DNS issue on your network.

how would I go about solving a DNS issue?  I've restarted the service, and cleared the cache.
