Title: Drivestation not recognized.
Post by: johnob on July 21, 2009, 11:36:28 AM

I bought my drivestation (CE500U2) about 6 weeks ago. It was working fine, but when I turned it on about 2 weeks ago, it wasn't recognized. Device manager lists a USB mass storage device, but it has the yellow exclamation with the error inside the properties (This device cannot start. (Code 10)).

I have no idea why this has happened. It hasn't fallen, or been moved, or accumulated moisture. I have tried all USB ports on my system, and they work fine with other USB devices.

I tried to re-download the driver from the website, but it says it doesn't recognize my serial - although I typed it in exactly off the box.

Tried using it on Vista, but it just appears to install some generic drivers for it and the drive itself isn't recognized.

What could be the problem?

Code 10 is a driver error, if you are getting the same error from multiple PC's then more than likely the drive will need to be replaced.
