I managed to add a single 500GB Drive to an LS-WXL using TFTP Boot Recovery 1.53, got into EM mode, updated the Firmware using LS Updater with modified LSUpdater.ini file and got the single disk running fine. Whenever I try to add a second 500GB disk, The unit fails to boot and gives me a red error light 1 sec plus 0.5 sec. Have tried several drives, no joy. Remove second disk, no problem booting. Anyone know a fix for this? BW, Jeff
Try switching which bay the drives are in. Most models only try to boot from the first drive they find.
Alternatively, boot from your good drive then add the second drive while the device is online. You should be able to initialize/format it at that point.
If all else fails you could reinstall the firmware with both drives installed
