Title: Terastation authorization/authentication issues.
Post by: ashtonjones on July 17, 2009, 06:03:47 AM

Hello,  I have just purchased a Terastation Pro II - 2TB NAS.

I managed to get it set up and working fine on a network of 7 people, but for some reason the network computers keep losing connection to it. This only seems to happen when I turn my machine off (which was used to set up the NAS) or sometimes when the other computers log off.

When I check back in the web admin control panel, the Administrator username and password is always blank. When I re-enter it, the computers connections all get restored and work fine for a period, but when they lose connection and I check back, the admin name as password is missing again.

Anyone else have this problem?

This is an interesting issue.  I would try flashing the firmware on the device if it is an older version.  Or you can do a force firmware flash.

You shouldn't have to but try installing nas navigator on a couple of the users computers and see if that keeps the device accessible.   You can download that under support and downloads from the main buffy page.

I am having this problem.
Disconnects overnight, have to manually enable 'Local User Authentication Settings' in the morning.
If I can't find a solution, I won't be using this device for long.
