Ok I got the firmware to update and it is working.  I also got my answer to the certificate error answered and fix no I am onto my next problem.

 

When I access my linkstation live thru the webaccess and it opens up my first folder which is my music folder.  My music folder is pretty large.  Well when it opens this folder after a few seconds I get this message "Stop running this script?  A script on this page is causing IE to run slowly.  If it continues to run,  your computer might become unresponsive.  Stop scropt yes or no"  I always click no and it continues to open folder with no problems.  Why does it do this?  Is there a way to keep the folder from opening up or is there a way to stop this message from happening.

Have you tried firefox?

   

no I have not.  Will that fix the problem with the script?  Is it a problem with IE?

 

Yeah, IE looks like it can't handle the script.  Try firefox or a different browser and see if the issue persists.

   

Okay I will try firefox and see if it works.  Now here is my other question.  When I updated the firmware I noticed that on the lower left corner of the webaccess page the audio option is gone.  The link that opened up the audio flash player.  Did this feature go away with the new firmware up date.  I guess I really don't mind since I could not get the previous to make it work either.  It is just annoying because one reason I got the linkstation is because it said it could stream music with a flash player.  Any way to fix this or any inside information?

Yes this is an issue that we are aware of and in the process of fixing.  I apologize for the inconvenience.

   okay do you know when that fix is going to come out? From what I have read it has been a while. Anyway the other problem I am having is that when I try to play any music other than mp3 when I am accessing the linkstation thru web access it will not play. I have no problem when I play it from my network but thru web access it will not work. When I try to play music music other than mp3 format I get this message. "Windows media player encountered an error when connecting to the server. The security information from the server could not be validated." How do I fix this or what needs to be done. We don't have a timeline for the flash player update. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

Windows Media Player doesn't have the option to add an SSL certificate. Try a different media player such as VLC (not sure if that will work, but it's worth a shot), or disable HTTPS/SSL.

With the problem you are having at the top of the page, i saw you mention that you are trying to access you music folder, im guessing that this folder has probably 100's if not 1000's of file in it. The reason you are getting this message is becasue IE (and FF) has to index all this files in turn, this does take some time to do and IE releases this, this is why you are getting this message (because its taking alot longer to load the page then a normal wepage)

 

In FF you if this message opens you should have an option not to be notified of this message again. although its not really an ideal solution it should stop you from being prompted for the message in futhure.
