Title: SMB 2.0 on LS-WX4.0TL/R1
Post by: bugsysiegel on December 29, 2018, 12:27:55 PM
I wasn't able to connect to my LinkStation from my new computer because of SMB 1.0 being disabled. My LinkStation doesn't have a place for me to enable SMB 2.0 so I told it to check for new firmware. It currently has 1.54 and it tells me that it's the latest firmware. When I looked on Buffalo's website, it looks like there's a newer firmware - 1.74; however, after installing the new firmware, I still don't see anywhere to enable SMB 2.0. Am I missing something, or is this just not going to work unless I keep SMB 1.0 enabled? I saw a post where someone connected to it via SSH, but it needs the ROOT password. I don't know the root password and the ADMIN password just causes the session to close. Either way, I'm not sure I understand what need to be done if I got in.

If anyone out there has a suggestion, I'd appreciate it.

Andy
