Title: LS CH500L keeps "checking disk"
Post by: luotope on November 01, 2008, 08:43:38 AM

I performed "Erase disk" from admin console. After that I have got this message both in console and Nas2:

Currently a Format or Disk Check is being carried out. During this time the LinkStation settings can not be changed. Also the file share service will not be available.

Now been waiting for two days. How long this process should take?

Reset to factory default did not help. How can I reformat the disk now?

I would hold in the init button for 30 sec

and/or power it up while holding in the init button, booting the unit into EM mode.

then force the firmware

Thanks for your reply!

I will try that, even if I don't know what is EM mode?

Holding 30+ sec did not change yet anything. It still keeps flashing 2long, one short.

And does the firmware update really help even if I have the latest version?

But, let's see how it works after /force.
