Title: Raid 1 Query
Post by: ronpearson on July 07, 2009, 05:39:16 AM

Have set up a Drivestation Quattro 2TB on my Mac server as Raid 1.

Seems fine but....

How do I know for sure it is mirroring?

I cant seem to find any way to see the mirrored drive.

I assume there is some way to see it (1) for peace of mind and (2) in the case of a failure requiring accessing the info.

Because RAID 1 acts as one drive, you will only see one drive!

If the RAID utility says it's in RAID, then it is. As long as no error lights are flashing on the unit, there shouldn't be an issue with a drive or RAID Array.

If a drive fails then you be able to restructure the array, and depending on the disk that fails you will still have access to the data.
