Title: drive check time?
Post by: dwiener on October 30, 2018, 09:52:50 AM
How long should a drive check take. My 4 drive 4tb raid 5  linkstation has been running for almost 3 days now. When can I expect it to be useable again? Is it safe to power it off and see if it restarts normally?

Do not do that.

Check the status

The status shows up as blank. No time remaining indication whatsoever . When I go to the management page progress just shows a spinning ball Checking drive...
No features can be changed until the drive has been completely checked. Also, file sharing is not available.

After starting on day 5 I pulled the plug on the unit and then powered it back up. The array is back and fine. Maybe the 1.74 firmware is buggy?
