Title: Drive Check
Post by: dwiener on October 30, 2018, 09:32:28 AM
How long should a drive check take. My 4 drive 4tb raid 5  linkstation has been running for almost 3 days now. When can I expect it to be useable again? Is it safe to power it off and see if it restarts normally?

If you restart it then it will start again from the beginning, it can take days.

After starting on day 5 I finally gave up and just disconnected power to the unit. When I started it back up it booted just fine and my array was back. I was thinking of upgrading the drives in this array from 1tb x4 to 4tb x 4 but am now wondering if it is worth the aggrivation.
