Title: TS-XL/R5 won't stay turned off
Post by: DJ_Enigma on October 22, 2018, 09:33:22 PM
Hi all,

I recently picked one of these up second hand and I am having trouble getting the thing to turn off and stay off. When I go to the maintenance menu and choose shutdown, it will go into standby for a minute or so and then it will turn itself back on.

This wouldn't be so annoying, because most of the time I want it to be turned on, however, in the event of a power outage when the device is running on UPS power I want to be able to remote into it and shut it down without having to worry that it will turn itself back on again before the UPS battery dies making the UPS pointless.

Has anyone else had this issue before? I've done some reading about stuff and have set the power on the back to manual and I've closed all instances of NAS Navigator, but I don't know what else to try.

Any help would be most welcome!

Cheers,

DJ

Just seen a post on here saying to disable Wake On Lan.

I really do want WOL enabled, but I'll try it anyways and report back.

Cheers,

Alex

It actually looks like setting the switch to manual may have sorted it afer a reboot :)
