Post by: eznas on October 15, 2018, 11:04:47 AM
I have a TeraStation ES - TS-XE4.0TL/R5 that im trying to bring back to life. it is in TFTP ERROR 6 mode and will not goes into EM mode what ever im trying to do.
Im trying to follow this guide https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/74xoju/how_to_fix_a_buffalo_terastation_tsxel_in_tftp/

but stuck where i can not find the password for the firmware files so i can extract them into the TFTP folder.

I was also trying to follow Buffalo guide but i can not seem to find a TFTP file that work for this system.

Any advise or suggestions are welcome, if anyone know the password that will be great.

Thanks

I'm working on a more or less comprehensive guide to deal with this situation (Installing firmware on blank drives without using tftp). I DM'd eznas a link to my post on another thread where I posted an outline to the procedure:

eznas messaged me back saying it worked on their TeraStation ES as well.

I'll make a separate post once I get a bit farther on my more detailed write up.
