Title: Replacement Drive For Samsung HD203WI
Post by: pacuk01 on September 16, 2018, 02:24:32 AM
Hi my Terrastation has reported drive 2 of 4 with bad sectors. I havevreformatted drive and run a check disk on it. Rebooting the Terrastation the message light has gone out.

I assume I need to consider replacing this drive. What is a suitable drive to replace it with as the drive has been discontinued?

Can I also instal higher capacity drices?

Any standard 2TB disk should work fine, the model numbers don't need to match, you can increase the disk capacity if you like but you won't see an increase in capacity if you're using a RAID array (unless you replace all the disks)

Many thanks for the reply.

So drive speed is not an issue and the age of my Terrastation doesn't restrict the size of my drive

QuoteIt is recommended to replace drives with the same sector size to maintain proper performance.
