Title: Cannot "Reset" Link Station LS-WVL After HD Failure
Post by: tyrone3a on September 01, 2018, 04:04:36 PM
Hi!

Had HD failure. Replaced BOTH drives. Link Station showed red light flashing six (6) times (repeating). Tried to "reset" LinkStation by turning it off, then on while holding function button. Blue light was then flashing rapidly. Then pressed function key again. Blue light still flashing rapidly 30 minutes later. Flashing amber light never seen, so initialization never started. NAS Navigator2 does not find any Link Station on network. Thus cannot perform initialization manually.

Any help getting drives initialized and Link Station back up and running would be appreciated.

You need the boot image for the unit, the operating system was on the original disks so now it has nothing to boot from.
