Title: encrypt 1tb drive
Post by: jceac on October 30, 2008, 03:27:29 PM

i have a 500gb drivestation that i encrypted with secure lockware. can i still do this on a 1tb drivestation? reason is, nothing happens after i disconnect the drive after the prompt tells me to when trrying to encrypt it.

i have read somewhere that secure lockware only allows file/folder encryption now, but i'm not sure.

thanks for any info.

What operating system are you running on the computer? Also is it a 64 or 32-bit environment?

You should be able to use the secure lockware on the 1 TB drive. After it prompts you to disconnect the drive try to reconnect it and go into Disk Management, this should prompt you to initialize the disk. This will erase all the data on the drive, but at this point the encryption should be applied.
