blue light. sync finished, still can't create folders. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Now what?
Bueller?
you can create folders on good arrays
have you a good array?
yes, i still have the old drives, but that's really not the point of this exercise. I'm trying to upgrade the rig with new, larger drives.
NAS navigator says "Drive (RAID 5)" and a red bar that says "Unformatted".
I tried clicking "Format" for "Array 1" in the web interface, but that didn't do much, just left me back in the same state i started in.

i have also tried all of these. none of them worked.

Is this my problem?
I'm using four x 8TB drives
Yeah, I think it is a 16TB thing. Three 8TB drives in a RAID5 works fine.
raid maximum is 16TB.

http://forum.buffalo.nas-central.org/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=44227&hilit=16TB
If I can get "inode64" into the mount options for XFS, would that help?
Changing the CPU to intel atom would help.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic, or if you're actually serious.
Is this something that is actually possible?
I've dumped enough time money and effort into this project, I would not be opposed to dropping another $100 or so if there's a standard form factor board of some kind I could put in there and make work.
You need a 64bit system to use more than 16TB.
