Title: Unaccessible to a shared folder
Post by: tsutu on June 25, 2009, 10:02:58 AM

Hi,

I am trying to set a linkstation (HS-DH500GL-R) on my network again. We used to use this machine extensively, but once when we ran into many issues of permissions, I stopped using it.

Now I am trying to get back to this. There is a shared folder we created last time, and there are some files on it, I hope. Since I have a new router, I had to change the IP address by resetting the Linksation.

The linkstation remebered all of our users and access privilages. Yet, when I log in from desktop as one of the users who has enough permission, I can only access to "info" folder, not the shared holder. I tried with the admin password, but it still gives me an access to "info" folder only. I remember that I used to be able to choose the shared folder along with info folder.

What am I not doing it right? Please let me know if you know what s going on.

Thank you for your time in advance.

Warmly,

Tsuyoshi

Hi,

As I looked into the problem further, the issue is different than what I described.

I am using Mac OS to access the LS. The shared folder actually showed up when I accessed via "Connect to Server" option from the menu (but still not if I were to choose the LS on the left panel from finder window).

Now the issue is I can access the first level of this shared folder, but not subsequent folders at all.

Any thought? Thanks again.

Warmly,

Tsuyoshi

Which firmware did you say you were running? :)

Hi,

The firmware is 2.06. I see that the newest version is 2.11. Do you think that will fix the problem?

Also, I created a new shared folder, and everything seems to work fine. It just that no of us has right permission for the inside of the older ones...

Thank you again.

Warmly,

Tsuyoshi
