I came back from a trip to find a red light on my NAS. Sorry I didn't count the number of "flashes". I just turned it off and on again. The white light, indicating file access, started flashing. I expected that this meant the drive was going through all the files.

Today the white light (power) is solid. There is no light on the lower light.

I can ping the device OK on the original IP which I assigned to it. But I can't log into the web interface or mount my shares. I tried from Linux and from a Windows 10 tablet/laptop where I always mounted one share from this drive read only. No luck.

The device is an 8TB LS220D962

What does the NAS Navigator report.

Thanks for your suggestion. NAS Nav from my phone finds nothing. On my PC and tablet going to the ip address, using a web browser, gives connection refused.

BTW, the on and off switch at the back does nothing to the device. I have to pull the power plug to turn it off now. Not sure if the switch worked before.

When the device boots up the power button flashes white. This is what the manual says it should do. I guess it is indexing the files? Takes a LOOOONG time.

While the device is booting, until about 30 minutes into the process, ping returns destination not reachable. Booting takes hours on my drive which has many files.
