Title: Link Station Quad Being dropped
Post by: mfh100 on June 24, 2009, 11:03:54 AM

My LS just drops out of usage. The lights are still on, but the access to the LS disappears.  And I have it on DHCP and the NAS Navigator software can't find it.  So resetting it does nothing.

The PC is just on, running basic programs nothing much and the LS will be available and then, it is gone. The LS continues to run, the blue LED is on and it would appear that there are no problems but access is gone.

Then I play around with it, turn the PC off, and the LS then try and restart both of them, then the LS is found again.  But eventually drops off.

2 questions...

Any other PCs on the network that you can use to test with to ping the linkstation?

Have you tried to re-initialize the linkstation and see if the issue persists after the re-init?

I have tried re-init that does not work.  Other PCs can not see the NAS either.  It is just 'gone'.

Are you connectingwired or wirelessly to the switch/router that the LS is on?  Try hardwired.  Also disable firewalls on these computers.  When it does show up does it say its in EM mode?  When that Navigator finds the unit do you see an IP?  What happens when you try to access it via \\IP in the run command?
