Title: TS-XL/R5 Firmware Downgrade
Post by: ILuvNips on July 06, 2017, 06:01:01 AM
Can the firmware on these be downgraded after it has been upgraded? My NAS which is on 1.66 has a message to say that an upgrade to 1.71 is available but before I upgrade I want to make sure that I can downgrade if I want to. Reason for wanting to do this is I have opened up SSH on the NAS to allow me Telnet/SSH access and if upgrading to 1.71 blocks this then I'd want to downgrade back to 1.66.

Download the firmware from here:

http://www.buffalo-technology.com/Download_t3f.php?elif=%2Fuserfiles%2Ffile%2Fdownloads%2FTS-XL_series_1.66.zip

Unzip it, enable the debug options, tick "Do not check version" and run the update.

davo You are a star, thanks very much :)

EDIT: Firmware updated and SSH access in 1.71 works fine so no meed to regress :)
