Title: Linkstation 220 Failed
Post by: badgerdata on June 09, 2017, 06:00:12 AM
I have a linkstation 220 - mirrored raid.  I think the primary drive went bad because I hear clicking when I start it up.

When it is turned on, the LED blinks 7 times.  The unit does not show up in NAS Navigator at all.

Can I just move Drive 2 into the Drive 1 spot and boot because they are mirrored?

Can I pull the data off the drive using usb-sata adapter or could that corrupt the drive?

Disks can not be swapped between themselves, only a replacement to another blank disk.

You have error I07, read manual

E07, not I07.

Recovery needs to be reinstalled, it will result in data loss.

E07 in the manual says firmware failure but I've read elsewhere that 7 flashes means bad ram, bad nic or hdd controller failure.

If the drives are mirrored then I don't understand why there would be data loss if one of the drives is still good.

Is there any way to pull the good drive and connect it to a usb-sata adapter and pull the data off?

Have you tried pulling drive 1 and rebooting? It could just be causing the system to not boot.
