Title: TS-8VHL/R6 Need to recover
Post by: hatchet22 on March 30, 2017, 11:41:30 AM
I have a TS-8VHL/R6 and it will not boot.A red blinking display with boot fail. I hooked up a Monitor and keyboard. I can see all boot up tests pass, and it attempts to boot from drives, then from LAN2. I see the DHCP request for LAN2 but fails with "no boot filename received". Then i get message "Reboot and select proper Boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key"..

I placed a sniffer on LAN2 and see the DHCP requests but will not accept what is given. (I assume because the DHCP request is asking for a few vendor specific things but NOT TFTP so Buffallo will not accept DHCP IP address)
I see online TFTP or USB recovery for other Buffalos, but not my model...
