I cannot get my Macbook Pro (w/ OS X Siera 10.12.3) to connect to my Linkstation (model LS-WVL3D6)) through the NAS Navigator 2.86 app when in Auto Mode. If my husband is connected with his Windows Laptop, then I can connect. We do not leave the server on all the time, is that the problem?
Can anybody help? I'd rather not have to leave the NAS on all the time or make my husband connect first, to be able to connect. Thanks.
Why do u need the NAS Navigator to mount the NAS? You should be able to use connect to server and mount it. NAS are meant to be on 24/7.
Our directions that came with our model says it works in AUTO and recommends you don't leave it on all time, "just when you need it". We use it more for storage, so there is no reason to leave it on all the time. It comes with an "AUTO" feature that works fine with Windows, I purchased this for my MAC, so I want it to work with my MAC. Can someone from Buffalo please reply to my problem.
If the NAS Navigator is failing to keep the unit awake when in auto mode then you more than likely have security software (anti virus and/or firewall) blocking the application sending the WOL packet (port 2304 UDP).
Officially Seria isn't supported on the LS-WXL anyways.
