Title: Upgrade from 4x3TB to 4x4TB
Post by: cgquay on January 31, 2017, 06:56:48 AM
LinkStation LS-QVLA8B

I changed 3x3TB hard disk to 3x4TB of my LinkStation (RAID5) over a period of 2 years due to faulty hard disk - in 3 separate upgrade.

Last week, the last 3TB failed and I bought a new 4Tb to replace it.

After the Array Rebuild, the total capacity remains at 8TB. I thought I should get 12TB (4x4TB - 1TB for RAID5).

is there a way to configure the RAID to recognise the full hard disk capacity?

Thanks for help in advance.

You need to delete the RAID and recreate it to see the new capacity. There is no way to upgrade the capacity without deleting the data.

Is there a Expand storage pool option for Buffalo?

There is this option for other NAS.
