Hello,
I apologize if this has been answered previously. I had a quick search and wasn't able to find the answer to the issue at hand.
The issue? Well I'm pretty sure that the NAS enclosure (LS220DE) is "kaput" I had left house while moving a large number of files over to it and upon return I noticed that it had errored out. Upon further look I noticed that the drives (I had set up a number of directories as separate network drives) were all unavailable. I looked over at the nas and I see it blinking RED led. The pattern is 3 blinks a pause then 3 blinks again and so on. When I tried to restart the station it flashed white for a while. then white LED stays solid for about 2 seconds and then I see different code 1 flash short pause then 2 flashes. This repeats about 6 or 7 times then the pattern changes to 3 flashes pause then 3 flashes pause and so on again.
Not exactly sure but if the station itself is fault I was wondering if it is possible to buy exactly same Buffalo Linkstation LS220DE and have the drives I have been using up until now work in it. By work I mean without having to reformat them and lose data. I know it's probably not possible to mive drives between different manufacturer NAS enclosures but I was hoping that it can be done when enclosures are exactly same models?
Pull the drives out and install a new drive and attempt to re-install the firmware in it. If that don't work, then yeah u could get another one of the same NAS.
If I did would the data on the drives be retrievable or would I be forced to reformat them?
Both drives were setup in RAID 1 (mirrored) configuration. If that matters.
P.S. Thanks for the reply! :)
