Title: Question regarding RAID software interface
Post by: Brrr in Alaska on December 14, 2016, 07:09:44 PM
I am considering getting a Buffalo NAS. I want to set it up to use RAID5 with 3x 2TB drives and a 3TB drive. The 3TB drive will be partitioned as 2TB and 1TB giving me a planned 6TB for the RAID and 1TB to be used as an encrypted volume. Does the interface allow for choosing the partitions to be used in the RAID when setting it up?

Unfortunately not, unless you buy a Terastation and use the 4th disk as an iSCSI volume.
