Title: LS220 Not available (but not everywhere)
Post by: pmat on October 19, 2016, 03:30:12 AM
I have two Linkstations with different issues. With the LS2200, I've had it for a few years. It has two drives that were working properly and files could be accessed. I decided to run what I think was a Linkstation check disk which ran okay. But after that, I was no longer able to access/see either drive via my Windows 7 workstation.

I can log on to them with the admin account and see the drives, their model name, unit capacity, etc., In NAS Navigator, it shows he LS220DCAC, the IP address, even the usage (99.7% and 87.5%). When I try to Browse shares, the message is "Could not open the shared folder". The LS220-based folders also disappeared on another PC that could access it previously.

HOWEVER, it shows up on an LG DVD player that had access previously and I can access the files via the player though there are 2 LS220's icons that appear on the screen where I make the selection but only one works (I don't think I created a new one).

I'd like to access them from all the equipment on the network. Any advice?

The same problem - happened second time already. First device died in 3 months, the replacement is now dead too.

NAS navigator is able to see the unit, but I can't ping nor HTTP to it.

By WireShark I see the NAS is sending some types of traffic out - NBNS, IGMP requests, but remains silent on ICMP and TCP attempts.

Just created another ticket. Will have to sell the replacement unit on Craig's List as can't be confident in this model any more.
