Title: Disk Failed. Put in New One. Raid Rebuilt... Still Degraded
Post by: rnsrnd on September 25, 2016, 05:02:39 PM
I have an LS220D somethign or other.

Just what the title says. I put in a new drive, clicked rebuild. Took a day or so, and now Rebuild is grayed out -- I can't do that anymore -- but it still says "degraded."

What does that mean, and what do I do?

Also: I have posted 4 questions here about various issues and questions with buffalo products. I've never gotten an answer. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for reading,
rnsrnd

More information -- restarted the system.

It rebuilds again (Another day or so), to get the same result: Degraded RAID, button to rebuild (or anything else) grayed out.

I tried physically removing the new drive and re-seating it in a desperate, cargo-cult attempt to get more useful behavior out of the system.

Rebuilt to the same outcome.

I have some stuff on that I don't want to lose -- I am thinking I should abandon the box, which really sucks.
