Title: Linkstation LS-WX2 re-build
Post by: apolinsky on July 25, 2016, 10:24:24 AM
My Linkstation died after several years of constant use. I ordered two new 2 terabyte disks, downloaded TFTP boot recovery LS-WXL133.exe to try to install initial firmware to the disks. When I connect the station directly to my windows machine, it does not seem to be throwing out a DHCP address, since I am left at a 169.xx.xx.xxx address. Is there something else I could try to start the recovery process? Perhaps I am missing a step or two.

Thank you.

Why would it get a DHCP address when it is directly connected to the PC? The PC is not a DHCP server, match the 169 IP range on the PC and update the firmware then.

If you want more details then PM me, I have the correct TFTP images and instructions.
