Title: LS-W2.0TGL/R1-EU in emergency mode
Post by: martint123 on July 25, 2016, 06:37:40 AM
Sorry for asking about what appears to be a common problem, but so far I haven't been able to get out of it.

Little brother dropped off his NAS on his way to holidays, saying that it stopped responding after a power cut.

Just a solid green power light and winking network light.  Can find the nas in the routers dhcp table and ping it ok - noting else.
Found nasnavigator2 (2.83) and it finds the box and reports that it is in emergency mode.

Read that firmware needs reflashing so got hold of LSupdater 1.73 and ran it.  Popped up and it said "linkstation that needs updating wasn't found" Bit more searching and set debug mode to force with the same result.  More reading and made sure firewall & virus stuff was disabled, tried again with the same negative result.

I'm beginning to think I'll have to try reading the drives on a PC with some linux variant. I think they were set as one big drive rather than raid.

I though I'd ask here in case I am missing something obvious before I take what may be a one way route ....
regards
Martin

Thought I'd ask here first
