Hi all -- after searching for some time -- have two questions ?
For  LS-WX4.0TL/R1 Linkstation
1) Can I upgrade to a 4TB HD drive (from 2x2TB to 2x4TB) ?
2) Where can I find the TFTP file for my model Box ? Don't seem to find the exact model

Background
I have a LS-WX4.0TL/R1 in RAID 0 Stripping. One drive crashed and the other drive is OK. I am taking this opportunity to upgrade from 2TB HD drives to 4TB HD drives since I need to buy new drives. I got 4TB WD REDs. When I insert the brand new 4tb next to the 2tb I do not get the option to rebuilt -- so I deleted the array and now also do not get the option to format the new drive, even after deleting the array -- format is grayed out. For the 2tb all is good but for the 4tb cannot perform any operation.
So because I read that "somewhere" that the 2TB is MBR and the 4TB is GPT then the BOX cannot operate with both in (incompatible).
So I figured I can try to TFTP with only the 4TB drive and get it up and running on its own -- but this is assuming that I can use a 4TB since my "gut" tells I probably could do since one of the models sold by Buffalo was the LS-WX6.0TL/R1 that had 3 TB drives and I believe 3TB drives are GPT.

Hi,

I have the same question / problem.  Is this possible to do?  I have the same Linkstation with both HD (2x2TB) functional but need to upgrade to larger drives.  I was going to buy a new Terastation 3400 (I have two 12TB 3200's already) but really don't need that much space for this application at this time. Buying two 4TB drives would be a better choice for now.

The unit can be upgraded to a max of 2X8TB HDDs. If you need the files then send me a PM.
